David Thrussell

David Thrussell has released many records under many names, ranging from the sometimes soulful, often satirical ballads and floor-killing dance tracks of Snog, to Black Lung’s haunting film score instrumentals and driving rhythmic noise, to the otherworldly ambiance of Soma, to the snarky conspiratainment of Crisis Actor, and even psychedelic storytelling under his own name. Just who is this modern renaissance man, living as a hermit on the fringe beyond the cringe while sending us all messages like a curmudgeonly canary in a cosmic coal mine? Put on your most comfortable tin foil ensemble because we go deep, y’all. No worries though, as there is no Kool Aid, only kindness and wonder with a bit of healthy disdain for the inverted world we walk.

John McAfee

John McAfee joins the show via Skype from a Faraday cage in an undisclosed location and with a personality visible from space. We discuss provoking of governments and thwarting of intelligence agencies, running for President while on the run, lamentations on an over-wired world and the pursuit of freedom right up to flight itself.

He makes both wild claims and solid points, though I'll leave it to you to decide which is which. I went in without expectations and was pleasantly surprised by the man behind the caricature. I reckon you will be too.

Kep Taiz and SENSORIUM

Kep Taiz  is an inventor, neoshamanic artist, musician and pioneer in the field of sensory therapy. His intrigue with heightened states of awareness led to the creation of the Sensorium. The apparatus and service has been endorsed by Andrew Weil  M.D, featured in the Wall Street Journal, De Young Fine Arts Museum and offered as a spa service for Miraval resort. Kep let me test drive this device, which delivered incredible relaxation and an out of body experience. We discuss my “trip,” and the wider applications of this unique device for recovery, healing, and self-knowledge.

Nick Hinton

Nick Hinton is an author, podcast host, and a member of the Fatum Project, which has developed a “matrix-breaking” activity called Randonauting. Think of it as GPS on shuffle, forcing change through benevolent chaos and reminding us how easy it is to have an adventure in these increasingly predictable and stale times. We discuss the history and future of randonauting, synchronicity, the duality of Saturn, and owls. This podcast arrived just before a mass randonauting event, one of many to come.
